La Alhambra

Alhambra means "the red palace" in the Arabic language. The Alhambra palace, besides having a very rich architecture, has also many water wells. Water meant hospitality, power, and vitality for the Arabic people, around the 10th century. Because water also meant power, the kings would build several wells throughout all palaces' patios. Alhambra has incredible water wells. The Arabic people who there inhabited designed a complex system of water channels that superposed the unevenness between the gardens and Alhambra. In the Muslim world water is an essential requirement, which allows for carrying out religious precepts in the search for a state of purity.
